Rushing offense returns with a vengeance

Running the ball was an afterthought for the Vikings last season and to say that Mike Zimmer was less than thrilled about this would be a massive understatement. Zimmer only mentioned his displeasure with the lack of run play-calls around 600 times last year.

For 2019, Minnesota has a new group of guys in control of the offense that should be able to meet the expectations of the team’s head coach.

With Kevin Stefanski now the offensive coordinator, Gary Kubiak the offensive advisor, and Rick Dennison the new offensive line coach, the Vikings’ rushing attack should get back to how it was in 2017 when it ranked among the NFL’s best.

Minnesota finished with the seventh-most rushing yards that year and there aren’t many reasons to believe that the team can’t do something similar in 2019 with Stefanski and Kubiak running the offense.

The Vikings are capable of ending this season with a top-five rushing attack and it would be very shocking if their backfield doesn’t finish the year among the league’s 10 best.
