Vikings win each of their first nine games

Some out there believe that the Vikings have one of the toughest schedules in the NFL this year. However, Minnesota’s slate of games this season may not be as difficult as some are making it out to be.

The Vikings start the year by facing a non-playoff team in six of their first eight matchups and then they close their schedule with four of their final six games at home inside U.S. Bank Stadium.

In addition to this, Minnesota gets the luxury of having two of their toughest road matchups against the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears take place in September and not late in the season when the cold could have been a big factor.

But wait, how are the Vikings going to win their first nine games when five of them are on the road? Easy, just take a look at who they’re against.

Minnesota’s first road matchup has them taking on the Packers, a team they haven’t lost to in six of their last seven meetings. Then the Vikings have a road showdown with the Bears, who will be coming off a short week and may not even be as good as they were in 2018.

After these two games, Minnesota’s next two road matchups are against the New York Giants and Detroit Lions. The Vikings have won three of their last four in Detroit and the Giants shouldn’t present much of a challenge as long as Eli Manning is their starting quarterback.

The toughest matchup of Minnesota’s first five road games will come against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 9. But if the Vikings are 8-0 by the time they have to face the Chiefs, they should have a pretty good chance at coming out with a win.
