Beebe, Thielen take reps at holder

A day after Vikings kicker Dan Bailey missed three of his seven field goal attempts, receivers Adam Thielen and Chad Beebe were both seen practicing as holders.

Minnesota head coach Mike Zimmer didn’t confirm on Saturday if Beebe and Thielen practicing as holders had anything to do with Bailey’s misses on Friday. But Zimmer also didn’t deny it either.

Last season, punter Matt Wile was the holder for all of the Vikings’ field goal attempts. It was actually Wile’s first time as a holder and his lack of experience in the role certainly showed at times.

It seems like Zimmer believes his punter could be part of the problem behind Bailey not hitting most of his kicks. With what happened on Saturday though, it’s clear that Minnesota and their head coach are doing whatever they can to make sure that their kicking game is not a problem for them in 2019.
