Treadwell still exists

Lost in the shuffle that is the battle to be the Vikings’ third receiver this season has been the team’s former first-round draft pick, Laquon Treadwell.

During the first few days of this year’s training camp, Treadwell was not seen getting any opportunities to work with Minnesota’s first-team offense. That changed on Monday, as the young receiver was finally able to get on the field with the Vikings’ top offensive group.

It seems like Minnesota is giving a number of their other receivers not named Adam Thielen or Stefon Diggs the chance to stand out with their first-team offense. So far, Chad Beebe and Jordan Taylor still appear to be ahead of everyone else for the No. 3 receiver spot, but there’s also plenty of time for that to change before the regular season.

As for Treadwell, he needs to make the most of every opportunity he gets during this year’s training camp. It’s hard to imagine anything will change with him for 2019 though since he hasn’t done much with all of the chances he’s already been given during his career with the Vikings.
