5 Vikings who could land with another team in 2019

Kentrell Brothers – LB
Kentrell Brothers was a tackling factory in college at Missouri. This guy had a nose for the football and he had heat-seeking missile like instincts when it came to finding the ball carrier and taking him down.
When the Vikings were able to land him in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft, many of the team’s fans thought Minnesota got themselves a steal.
For whatever the reason, Brothers hasn’t been able to produce when it matters though as he has just 32 career tackles in three seasons. That isn’t great, but he has at least been a solid special teamer for the Vikings.
This year, Minnesota selected linebacker Cameron Smith from USC in the fifth round of the draft. Smith is someone who won’t challenge for much playing time on defense as a rookie, but he could be a solid special teamer for the Vikings.
He will compete for Brothers’ job and whether he flat out beats Brothers or keeps it close enough to where Minnesota decides to choose the rookie, Brothers could find himself out of a job.
Teams value special teams players and there will definitely be a market for Brothers if he is let go by the Vikings this year. Despite his lack of production, he will be a core special teams player right off the bat for a new team.
Brothers is also instinctive and smart enough to quickly pick up a new defensive system. Maybe a change would be what helps him become the type of productive player in the NFL that he once was in college.
