Bailey more consistent

Dan Bailey’s opening performance at this year’s training camp was definitely not anything the Vikings were happy with. During last Friday’s practice, Bailey only converted on four of his seven field goal attempts and the air in Minnesota quickly filled with steam from Mike Zimmer’s ears.

His bad day is likely what resulted in the Vikings having a bunch of different players including Adam Thielen, Chad Beebe, and Kyle Rudolph get reps in as the team’s holder on field goal tries.

Since Minnesota’s first two full-team practices though, Bailey has seemed to be more focused and he’s been making more of his kicks.

During Sunday’s session, he converted on five of six field goal attempts and he also made five of his six kicks on Wednesday. So since his disastrous opening performance, Bailey has only missed two of his last 12 field goal tries in practice.

Everyone can breathe easy now, right?
