Badet gets some action

Even though he didn’t open this year’s training camp on the Vikings’ PUP or NFI lists, wide receiver Jeff Badet did not participate in any of the team’s first four practices.

That changed on Wednesday though as Badet hit the field at the TCO Performance Center in pads for the first time since camp began last week. He didn’t get a ton of work in, but he at least appears to be getting closer to being a full participant.

Entering his second year with Minnesota, Badet spent last season on the team’s practice squad. He actually almost joined the New York Jets during the offseason, but the Vikings threw a little extra money at him to keep him around for 2019.

This year, Badet will be in the mix for one of the spots on the Vikings’ wide receiver depth chart behind Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs. He and his 4.27 speed are expected to compete for Minnesota’s vacant kick returner job too this summer.
