Defense responds to Zimmer’s comments

This year, the Vikings’ offense has looked pretty impressive during the team’s first few training camp practices. Minnesota head coach Mike Zimmer is happy that his offense has been playing well, but he’s not very pleased with the performance of his defense in camp so far.

During his presser on Thursday, Zimmer said he hasn’t seen the same, “grit and fight,” out of the Vikings’ defense this year that he’s seen from the offense.

Well, it seemed like Minnesota’s defenders took Zimmer’s comments to heart as they came out and played much better during Thursday’s practice.

Sometimes, guys just need a kick in the pants to get going and that’s where someone like Zimmer comes in handy. The Vikings’ defense showed on Thursday that they’re still a unit to be feared and there is no reason to believe they won’t finish among the NFL’s best again in 2019.
