Holmes leaves early with an injury again

A few days ago, Vikings defensive tackle Jalyn Holmes sat out practice with an undisclosed leg injury. The injury didn’t seem too serious as Holmes only missed the one day, but on Friday, he left Minnesota’s practice early with an injury once again.

Entering his second year with the Vikings, there seemed to be a chance that Holmes could have a bigger role with the team’s defense this season. However, he’s not going to get many opportunities if he can’t stay healthy.

Selected out of Ohio State by Minnesota in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft, Holmes converted from a defensive end to a defensive tackle after he arrived in the Twin Cities last year.

Minnesota figured his pass-rushing skills and his size would be a great fit for the interior of their defensive line. However, they may have to look at other options if Holmes keeps getting hurt in practice.
