Tyler Conklin – TE

Kyle Rudolph and rookie Irv Smith Jr. have been doing well in training camp this year, but the Vikings tight end that their coaches can’t stop talking about has been Tyler Conklin.

Conklin has excelled as both a blocker and a pass-catcher during Minnesota’s camp this year. He’s even been on the receiving end of a few Kirk Cousins throws into the end zone.

The Vikings’ coaches have certainly noticed an improvement in the young tight end from his play in 2018. Minnesota head coach Mike Zimmer recently stated that he believes Conklin is, “going to be a factor,” for the team’s offense this season.

Prior to training camp, Conklin seemed like one of the players who was on the Vikings’ roster bubble this year. But with the way he’s played in camp so far, now it would be a surprise if he’s not among the final 53 guys Minnesota’s heads into the regular season with.
