Vikings Training Camp 2019: Top 4 takeaways from Day 8

Odenigbo looking impressive
After failing to make the Vikings’ final roster last season, defensive end Ifeadi Odenigbo appears to have a good shot at earning a spot on the team this year.
Odenigbo has performed well during the opportunities he’s had in team drills and one-on-one drills during Minnesota’s current training camp. On Saturday, it was more of the same from the reserve pass rusher.
With the second-team defense on Saturday night, Odenigbo was matched up against Vikings left tackle Storm Norton and the results ended up in the defensive end’s favor. Odenigbo was able to pressure the quarterback multiple times on Saturday and it’s something he’s been able to do during the majority of Minnesota’s training camp this year.
With Tashawn Bower tearing his Achilles recently, the door is open for someone to take his spot on the Vikings’ roster this season. So far, it seems like Odenigbo will be the guy taking over Bower’s role in 2019.
