Vikings Training Camp 2019: Top 4 takeaways from Day 8
By Adam Patrick
Things get a little chippy to end the night
Often times during training camp each year, there are likely going to be a few instances in which players have to be separated from each other to prevent a situation from escalating to a fight.
It’s part of each camp around the NFL and it shouldn’t be a huge surprise to anyone given the violent nature of a football player’s job.
Toward the end of practice on Saturday night, Vikings cornerback Mackensie Alexander delivered a small shove to receiver Stefon Diggs on an incomplete pass. Diggs was not happy with Alexander at all after this sequence.
It resulted in the two jawing back-and-forth at each other to the point where Adam Thielen and Mike Zimmer had to get involved to separate the two and prevent the situation from turning into something regretful. Minnesota corner Xavier Rhodes took part in the trash talking with Diggs on Saturday as well.
This shouldn’t be anything to worry about for the Vikings. It was just the case of two competitive players getting a little too caught up in the moment.
