O’Neill hurts his hand

Staying healthy is going to be a big key to the success of the Vikings’ offensive line in 2019. If one or two of Minnesota’s starting blockers has to miss time this season, it could potentially lead to another disastrous year from the unit.

During Monday’s practice session, Vikings starting right tackle Brian O’Neill appeared to hurt his hand on a running play. O’Neill was then seen having his injury looked at by Minnesota head trainer Eric Sugarman on the sideline.

Hopefully, it’s just a minor ailment for the second-year offensive tackle. This time in training camp is so valuable for all of the Vikings’ starting blockers. They need to make sure they get as many reps in together as possible before they begin the regular season.

Don’t be surprised if O’Neill sits out Minnesota’s practice on Tuesday though. Taking the proper precautions when it comes to the health of their offensive line would be a wise decision for the Vikings to make.
