Undrafted receiver impressing

For 2019, the Vikings’ top three receiver spots seem to be pretty much decided with Adam Thielen, Stefon Diggs, and Chad Beebe filling these roles. After that though, Minnesota’s final two or three receiver spots are up for grabs between a bunch of players.

One of these pass catchers who has been slowly climbing up the ladder during this year’s training camp has been rookie Alexander Hollins. His play has stepped up recently and he continued to do well out on the field during Monday’s practice.

Undrafted out of Eastern Illinois, Hollins is still a long shot to make the Vikings’ final roster this season. But he is coming off an impressive senior season at Eastern Illinois where he finished with 80 catches for 1,102 yards, and 16 touchdowns.

A spot on Minnesota’s practice squad seems like the best outcome for Hollins this year. But with the Vikings having a few receiver jobs up for grabs this season, don’t count him out of the hunt for a spot on the active roster just yet.
