Teddy Bridgewater – QB

This is the big one. The majority of Vikings fans were overjoyed when the Vikings selected Teddy Bridgewater in the 2014 NFL Draft. They were equally as devastated when he blew out his knee, and when Minnesota let him walk in 2018, they were met with profound sadness.

It’s kind of odd actually because he never was a star at quarterback for the Vikings. His QB rating was usually in the high 80s and in his best season, he threw for 3,231 yards with 14 touchdowns to 9 interceptions.

He was having a great camp in 2016 before his knee blew up so maybe that’s what it is, the missed potential of this guy.

He was going to be Minnesota’s savior at quarterback and that was all taken away before he could develop into that player. Add in the fact that Teddy seems to be an all-around great guy and it’s no wonder Vikings fans look back on him with a longing in their tummies.

Teddy still has a lot of friends on Minnesota’s coaching staff and on the roster. They are all excited to face him this Friday in New Orleans.

He’ll probably play the majority of the first quarter if not more, so Vikings fans should get a nice long look at the one who got away. He’ll likely be facing Minnesota’s second-team defense, which is still better than some NFL teams’ starting groups.

It’ll be a good test for him and Vikings fans will get to see how far Bridgewater has come since he left the purple nest.
