As the preseason rolls on, the Minnesota Vikings have to make some roster moves. The current state of the roster should encourage the front office to keep five running backs on board.

The Minnesota Vikings invested a ton of money in their quarterback in 2018. They also have arguably the best wide receiver tandem in the NFL with Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs.

However, the Vikings should strongly consider keeping five running backs on the final 53-man roster.

Technically, I mean four running backs and a fullback. Nonetheless, Minnesota has a handful of talented backs on the current roster.

Dalvin Cook has a scary injury history and Mike Zimmer wants to run the ball more this season. Carrying just three prototypical running backs may make that a difficult task to accomplish in 2019.
