Ethan Pocic – G/C

Pocic was a guy the Vikings showed a lot of interest in during the 2017 Draft season. He is one of those guard/center hybrids and was seen as a no-nonsense, tough as nails road grader. The Vikings used their first pick to get Dalvin Cook but then the Seahawks swept in and snapped up Pocic before the Vikings could get another shot at him.

Pocic actually has been disappointing overall for the Seahawks during his short career. He’s played in 26 games so far with 15 starts. That is good from a production standpoint, but this guy has really struggled when he’s out there. Pocic is currently listed behind the ancient Mike Iupati, who the Seahawks signed in the offseason to upgrade over their 2017 second-round pick.

It’ll be interesting to see how Pocic handles some of the big old boys in the middle of the Vikings defensive line. He’ll be facing guys like Jaleel Johnson, Jalyn Holmes, and Hercules Mata’afa. Mata’afa proved to be a handful last week against the Saints and Pocic will have to be on his “A” game to handle Hercules’ tenacity and non-stop motor.

Pocic likely will make the Seahawks final roster but if for some reason he gets released the Vikings should definitely think long and hard about signing him, as there is still plenty to like about this big nasty.
