Marquise Blair – S
Marquise Blair was a guy I was interested in during the 2019 Draft season. He has good size, standing 6-foot-1 and coming in at just under 200 pounds. He’s known for one thing, and that thing is laying bone-crushing hits on ball carriers. Blair is the definition of an enforcer in the secondary and it seems quite likely the Seahawks drafted him to be their next Kam Chancellor.
Blair had a solid debut for the Seahawks last week against the Denver Broncos. He had six tackles in that contest and played fairly well in coverage. Blair is listed currently as third on the depth chart at free safety, and it appears the Seahawks are making their second-round pick earn his job.
Blair will be up against guys like Tyler Conklin, Brandon Dillon, Brandon Zylstra, Jeff Badet, and Dillon Mitchell. He has the physical talents to match up with those guys but coverage and technique are the areas he needs to improve upon the most. It’ll be a good contest to watch in the later portions of the game on Sunday.
When it comes to Blair this Sunday the biggest hope is that this big hitter doesn’t layout one of the Vikings players and cause them to miss an extended period of time.
