Poona Ford – DT

I have to come clean here. The only reason I was interested in Poona Ford when he came out of college was that his name was Poona. After watching the film on this guy, his ability was also apparent. Ford looks like a bowling ball out on the field. He’s short and tubby and reminds one of a young Jerry Ball. He went undrafted but earned a spot on the Seahawks last year, appearing in 10 games, and even starting one.

This guy has surprising lateral quickness for a man his shape and size. He has long powerful arms that he uses to ward off blockers and shuffle his way down the line. Poona closes in quickly and eats ball carriers up with his bulging belly and anaconda like arms.

With Jarran Reed facing suspension for the first six games of 2019, Ford will likely get the start this Sunday night. That will pair him against the Vikings first-round pick Garrett Bradbury. Ford will be a tough test for our young center.

Like I stated above, he’s very quick off the ball, and he is also very strong. Bradbury will have to be ready for this beast to come bearing down on him snap after snap. He’ll need to get the ball out quickly and then get those mitts up because Poona will be all up in his grill immediately.
