Minnesota Vikings MVPs: Preseason Week 2 vs. Seahawks
By Adam Carlson
Defensive MVP – Ifeadi Odenigbo, defensive end
Ifeadi Odenigbo has to be tired of being released by the Minnesota Vikings. The last two years he’s come so close to making the team’s 53-man roster that he has to be able to taste it. But this could finally be the year he does it!
The defensive end is putting forth a great case for a spot. He followed up a great performance last week against New Orleans with one that had the Seahawks quarterbacks shaking in their cleats when dropping back to pass.
Odenigbo put three hits on Seattle passers, but only registered a half a sack on the day. His statistics only show two tackles on the day, but he was consistently getting pressure and disrupting the Seahawks.
As an MVP candidate from last week, Odenigbo might become a regular in these pieces, at least in the preseason. That is a good sign if he is here again next week since Week 3 of the preseason is usually the dress rehearsal for the first team.
Do you agree with these choices for the MVPs from Week 2 of the NFL preseason? Or do you think a different player from the Minnesota Vikings deserves the honor? And which other players weren’t MVPs but deserve recognition? Let us know in the comments!
