Christian Kirk – WR

The Minnesota Vikings are obviously set with Diggs and Thielen as their starting two wide receivers. The problem is we are entering the third week of the Preseason and who the Vikings third wide receiver still remains a mystery. It appears Chad Beebe is the front-runner for that role and he may do just fine, but boy what an upgrade this second-year player would be.

Christian Kirk is 5-foot-11 and a put-together 200 pounds. He’s got great top-end speed but is also very shifty and quick out of his breaks. He can lineup outside or in the slot and would form a threesome with Diggs and Thielen that Kirk Cousins would be tickled pink to play with.

Kirk had a solid rookie season hauling in 43 passes for 590 yards and three touchdowns. He did that with crappy Josh Rosen as his quarterback. Imagine what he could do with a passer like Cousins tossing him the rock. The “Kirk to Kirk Konnection” would be a phrase Vikings fans would be gloating about for years.

An added bonus for the Vikings with Kirk is his ability to return punts. That is another area on the 2019 Vikings that is murky. Like the wide receiver three spot, it appears to be Chad Beebe’s job. Kirk would also be an upgrade here. He has more experience than Beebe and had 164 return yards his rookie season with a long of 44. Christian Kirk, though only in his second season, could really help out the Purple this year.
