Chandler Jones – DE

This one is kind of obvious because Chandler Jones would improve and help any team in the NFL if he was put on their roster. Jones has simply been one of the best defenders in the NFL the last few seasons.

Jones joined the Cardinals in 2016 following a trade with the New England Patriots. In his 3 seasons with the Cardinals, he’s racked up an eye-popping 41 sacks. In his 7 year career, he’s tallied 368 tackles and 77 sacks. Those are very impressive numbers.

There are a handful of reasons why Jones is so good. He’s got a long lanky frame that he uses to keep blockers off of him, and to envelope quarterbacks and ball carriers. He is tenacious with a motor that doesn’t quit and boasts a rare blend of speed and power. Another big reason for Jones’ success is that he’s so versatile. He can play with his hand in the dirt or standing up, Offenses don’t know where this guy is going to come from, and that is a problem for any offensive line to try to handle.

Seeing Jones play with a defensive mind like Mike Zimmer would be loads of fun.  Zim would almost certainly use him in multiple spots and create certain blitz packages for him where offenses wouldn’t have any idea where he’s coming from. Even if he just lined up opposite Danielle Hunter at right defensive end that would be devastating for any offensive line. Offenses wouldn’t be able to double team them both, leaving one of these beasts one on one with a tackle, and that would scare opposing quarterbacks into submission.
