Colby Gossett – OG

We go from a huge name like Adrain Peterson to a much lower profile player in Colby Gossett.  Gosset was a sixth-round pick by the Vikings in the 2018 Draft. He didn’t make Minnesota’s final 53-man roster as a rookie, but he was signed to the team’s practice squad.

The Vikings were hoping to develop this talented small schooler, but on the day before Halloween, the Cardinals pulled a trick on the Vikings. They signed Gossett to their active roster, much to the chagrin of Minnesota.

Gossett started four games for Arizona last season and he played in five. He held his own pretty well for a young guy getting tossed into the fire.

Currently, he is battling veteran J.R. Sweezy for the starting right guard spot on the Cardinals offensive line. Whether he ends up starting or not, he looks like a lock to make Arizona’s roster this season and he will at least provide some quality interior depth for Kyler Murray and company.

If the Cardinals wouldn’t have swooped in and sniped Gossett, there is a good chance he would have seen some live game action with the Vikings last year.

Minnesota’s offensive line was terrible in 2018 with Mike Remmers and Tom Compton being huge liabilities on the interior week in and week out. Gossett couldn’t have been any worse and most likely he would’ve been an improvement over either of those two.
