7 takeaways from the Vikings’ preseason win over the Cardinals

Beebe still a lock as the No. 3 receiver?
For much of this year’s training camp, many believed that Chad Beebe had pretty much locked up the role as the Vikings’ third receiver behind Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen. But in Minnesota’s three preseason games, Beebe hasn’t really done a whole lot.
In the Vikings’ three exhibition matchups this year, the young receiver has just one catch for seven yards. It’s not like Beebe hasn’t had opportunities to make plays though as he’s been targeted five times this preseason.
He has also seemed to be a little confused at times when he’s been out on the field during the last three weeks. This was pretty obvious in Minnesota’s second preseason game when Beebe and quarterback Sean Mannion weren’t on the same page during a play and it led to the Seattle Seahawks getting an interception and returning it for a touchdown.
Beebe will still probably open the regular season as the Vikings’ third receiver. But there are definitely a few other guys that could take over the role (Bisi Johnson, Brandon Zylstra) after a couple of games if the team isn’t happy with what they are getting from Beebe.
