Offensive Stats

The Vikings’ offense struggled as a whole against the Cardinals on Saturday. Kirk Cousins was off his game and he was missing open receivers.

Alexander Mattison came in early after Dalvin Cook‘s big touchdown scamper and he found some room to run. Mattison could’ve busted off a long run himself, but he tripped over his own guy instead. Other than that, he was able to grind out some tough yards, which is clearly becoming his specialty.

Minnesota rookie tight end Irv Smith Jr. didn’t have a target against Arizona and he kind of looked like he was lining up in the wrong spots again.

Wide receiver Bisi Johnson returned from getting shut out against the Seattle Seahawks last week. He caught a few balls and he also helped in the return game. Fellow Vikings rookie receiver Dillon Mitchell also got his first catch of the preseason on Saturday, which was good to see.

Minnesota backup fullback Khari Blasingame stayed hot and he scored yet another touchdown during the matchup against Arizona. Overall, the Vikings’ offensive rookies did their part and below are their stats through the team’s first three preseason games.
