Captain Munnerlyn – CB
Captain Munnerlyn was a prized free-agent signing by the Vikings in 2014. He played three seasons for the team and he had a solid little stint for the Purple.
Munnerlyn racked up 171 tackles and four interceptions for Minnesota in his three-year run with the squad. The Vikings liked the scrappy yet undersized cover man, but he ended up going home to his original team in 2017, the Carolina Panthers.
Munnerlyn’s second dance with the Panthers didn’t go as well as the first. He only started five games for them in two seasons and he amassed just 73 total tackles.
The Captain apparently still has some football left in him as he’s trying to provide veteran depth in the Bills’ secondary this year.
He’s currently listed behind guys like Cameron Lewis and Siran Neal. Munnerlyn is no lock to make Buffalo’s final 53-man roster, but he would give their young club loads of experience and years of helpful football knowledge.
He’d almost be like having a coach on the field and that could be enough value to keep him in the NFL for at least one more season.
