Linebackers (5)

  • Anthony Barr, Eric Kendricks, Ben Gedeon, Eric Wilson, Kentrell Brothers

The use of Jayron Kearse as a linebacker didn’t come to fruition, but I get the feeling that Mike Zimmer trusts the guys that are already reprising these roles. The trio of Anthony Barr, Eric Kendricks, and Ben Gedeon is probably safe. But again, the depth was the major question here.

Much like Weatherly on the defensive line, Eric Wilson serves a strong role thanks to his versatility with the linebackers. With the ability to rush the passer and cover, he could be a key player even if one of the three starters doesn’t go down due to injury.

The rest of the linebacking unit didn’t seem to separate themselves, meaning Zimmer may choose to just go with the devil he knows.

Kentrell Brothers has played a big role on special teams the past couple of years. But it’s still a possibility that Devante Downs or Reshard Cliett could make the team as a special teamer.
