Can the Vikings find an answer on special teams?
As has been the case throughout their history, the special teams drama has become nauseating for the Vikings this offseason.
With Minnesota general manager Rick Spielman willing to light fifth-round draft picks on fire to find his kicker, the Vikings still haven’t had much success finding an effective option.
Minnesota has exhausted almost every avenue to find a solution and with the addition of punter Britton Colquitt, they hope that a veteran presence will help put a stop to their issues. The remaining problem is kicker Dan Bailey, who had a rough start to camp, but settled down as the preseason went along.
No matter what, the Vikings need to finally get this right if they want to have a successful year. With Mike Zimmer having a hair-trigger on kickers that don’t execute, simply doing their job will alleviate one of the biggest concerns on the team heading into the season.
