Has the Super Bowl window already closed?
Two years ago, the Vikings had a nearly perfect storm that put them in a position to get to the Super Bowl.
They couldn’t get the job done, but many thought they had the talent to get back. With turmoil all over the team, Minnesota fell behind several other teams that improved and they raised plenty of questions heading into the 2019 offseason.
While the Vikings were busy, there’s no way of telling if it was enough until they actually start playing games.
Mike Zimmer does have a track record of doing better in odd-numbered years during his time in Minnesota, and if the trend continues, the Vikings could be heading back to the playoffs and have a shot of being one of the top teams in the NFC.
If Minnesota is unsuccessful, this could be a team that’s in line for a massive overhaul as Spielman’s failed moves to improve the roster and Zimmer’s harsh motivation tactics could be the dagger that sends this team into a full makeover next year.
