Matt Wile – P

Poor Matt Wile, he survived the Kaare Vedvik scare and initially, he made the Vikings’ final 53-man roster for the upcoming season.

But just as he was telling his grandmother about the good news, word came about that Minnesota was going to sign punter Britton Colquitt, and Wile found himself without a job.

Wile only lasted one season with the Vikings and he had a decent year as their punter, sometimes being the only bright spot in their special teams.

Supposedly, one reason he was let go was because of his sub-par holding ability on field goal and extra point attempts. Who knows? What I do know was that before he was in Minnesota, Wile spent some time with the Falcons.

Yes, in 2016 Wile was on Atlanta’s roster. It was just for one week though and during that one week with the Dirty Birds, he saw some game action. In his lone appearance for the Falcons, Wile had two punts that traveled an average of 58 yards.

His performance with Atlanta led him to getting picked up by the Arizona Cardinals. Wile appeared in three games for the Cardinals late in the 2016 season and then he was let go during the 2017 offseason. He eventually signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers before ending up with the Vikings right before the start of the 2018 season.

Who knows what the future has in store for Wile, but the past is clear. This man punted for both the Falcons and the Vikings.
