What to Watch For: Minnesota Vikings vs. Atlanta Falcons, Week 1
By Chris Schad
Can the Vikings get a season-opening victory?
As mentioned in the opening slide, the Vikings and Falcons are two teams looking to get a bad taste out of their mouths from last season.
One way to do that is to establish momentum early and for Minnesota, what better way could they establish themselves early by getting a win at home over a team who is expected to be a potential playoff contender this year.
The Vikings have plenty of question marks heading into this season. But Atlanta is also a team that has their share of deficiencies. If Kirk Cousins doesn’t have one of his random off games, Minnesota should be able to take a lot off his plate and stuff the ball right into the arms of Dalvin Cook.
If Cook can carry this team, the Vikings should be able to play with a lead and allow their defense to do what they do best by rushing the passer and playing aggressively.
This will not be a game that Minnesota will win easily, but it is definitely not a major challenge in front of their home fans. If they come ready to play, there’s a good chance that the Vikings can start off the 2018 season on the right foot.
Prediction: Vikings 27, Falcons 17
