When they begin their 2019 season on Sunday, what are some of the reasons why the Minnesota Vikings will come out of Week 1 with a win over the Atlanta Falcons?

20 years after their devastating loss in the NFC Championship, the Minnesota Vikings will be out for revenge when they kick off their 2019 season against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.

Well, maybe not. But anytime the Vikings get the opportunity to face the franchise that broke their heart in 1998, getting a victory is always on the mind of the purple and gold.

This year, Minnesota will be looking to put last season’s disappointing performance behind them. The Vikings entered last year as a favorite to make the Super Bowl and the end result didn’t even come close to the expectations they were given.

Will 2019 be a different story for Minnesota? There are a lot of signs that seem to indicate the Vikings are heading in the right direction this year. However, Minnesota’s reputation of finding new ways to screw themselves over always has to be taken into consideration.

First, the Vikings need to take care of business on their home field this week against the Falcons. Atlanta has the talent to leave U.S. Bank Stadium with a victory, but there are many reasons to believe that Sunday’s matchup will result in Minnesota opening their 2019 season with a win.
