Something to prove

No one is going to argue that last season wasn’t a disappointment for the Vikings. Minnesota and many outside of the organization believed the team was capable of winning the Super Bowl and in the end, they didn’t play well enough to even earn a spot in the playoffs.

This year, the expectations from the public aren’t as high for the Vikings. But the championship potential certainly hasn’t disappeared.

On Sunday against the Falcons, Minnesota has the opportunity to make a statement to the rest of the NFL. A convincing win for the Vikings would send a message that this year’s team is going to be much tougher to beat than the squad they put out on the field in 2018.

Atlanta is in a similar situation this season, but Minnesota has the more complete roster to actually turn this year into a success. Looking back at their underwhelming performance from a season ago should be all the motivation the Vikings need to get a victory on Sunday.
