Prime pass-rushing opportunity

Like the Vikings, the Falcons struggled last season in part to the disappointing performance of their offensive line.

In 2018, Atlanta’s blockers gave up an average of 2.6 sacks per game to opposing defenses. This was slightly higher than the 2.5 sacks per game Minnesota allowed last season.

The Falcons attempted to improve their offensive line this year by using two first-round picks on young blockers in this year’s NFL Draft. How much of a difference will these new additions make? Time will tell, but the group’s first chance to show their improvement will come against an extremely talented Vikings defensive line.

For Minnesota, their group of pass rushers are likely salivating at the opportunity to go against Atlanta’s young offensive line. The Falcons shouldn’t worry though, it’s not like the Vikings’ defense averaged the second-most sacks per game in the NFL last year.

Oh, wait.
