A good start to 2019 is essential

Looking at the teams the Vikings have to face this year, the first half of their schedule appears to be much easier than the second half.

With road matchups against the Kansas City Chiefs, Dallas Cowboys, Seattle Seahawks, and Los Angeles Chargers during the final two months of the season, it’s very important that Minnesota is able to win the majority of their games on the first portion of their schedule.

The Vikings’ attempt to get 2019 off to a good start will begin on Sunday against the Falcons. Not only would a win be a sign of Minnesota heading in the right direction, but it would also increase their confidence when they have to prepare for a tough matchup on the road in Week 2 against the Green Bay Packers.

During the last four seasons that ended with Minnesota in the NFC Championship (2017, 2009, 2000, 1998), they began the year with a victory in their very first game. The same outcome might not happen this season for the Vikings, but a win over the Falcons this week certainly won’t hurt their chances of achieving success this year.
