What exactly were the expectations for the Minnesota Vikings heading into their Week 1 matchup with the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday?

It’s safe to assume that most believed the Vikings were going to at least be competitive this week and there were even some who thought the Falcons could leave U.S. Bank Stadium with a win. Well, Minnesota blew pretty much every expectation out of the water on Sunday.

From the very first drive of the afternoon, the Vikings were clearly on an entirely different level than Atlanta. Minnesota had zero trouble with their opponent this week and they cruised to an easy 28-12 win over the Falcons.

The Vikings played excellent on offense, defense, and special teams against Atlanta. There are a few things that need some touching up before next week but overall, Minnesota performed about as well as anyone could have hoped for on Sunday.
