Offensive MVP – Honorable Mentions

The offense got going early and often in this game, getting off to a fast start. After scoring two touchdowns in the first quarter, the Minnesota Vikings continued to pound the football down the throat of the Falcons and didn’t look back.

There were some offensive players who did some WORK in this game. Here are four of those individuals!

  • Adam Thielen, WR – Fans better get used to seeing Thielen in these awards articles. In this game, he did everything that was asked of him by hauling in all three passes thrown his way for 43 yards and fought for the final yardage needed to get in the end zone on one of those receptions.
  • Kirk Cousins, QB – It’s hard to believe he only threw the ball ten times, but Cousins well, even with that limited work. He completed 8 of those throws for 98 yards and a touchdown. His efficiency throwing the football complimented a great running performance, adding a QB sneak for a score to his stats as well.
  • Alexander Mattison, RB – The rookie running back showed off some of his elusiveness as his acceleration during this game on a nice 23-yard scamper that was the highlight of his nine carries for 49 yards. If he keeps this up, he’ll see a bigger split of the carries in the future.
  • Josh Kline, G – An underrated signing this offseason, Kline looked like an absolute bulldozer against the Falcons. He opened up some massive holes for Dalvin Cook and Alexander Mattison and held his own in pass protection.
