Offensive MVP – Dalvin Cook, running back

I’ve said it before and I’ll keep saying it. When Dalvin Cook is healthy and can get decent blocking for the offensive line of the Minnesota Vikings, he’s among the most explosive and dynamic running backs in the league.

Cook got a healthy dose of the offense, carrying the ball 21 times for 111 yards and two touchdowns. He even caught both passes thrown his way for another nine yards, getting him to 120 total yards from scrimmage in the game.

It was nice to see the running back hitting some holes and not regularly getting hit before the line of scrimmage. Last year, this is something Vikings fans didn’t see from the offense as they couldn’t get enough of a push or didn’t game plan well for a running game.

It’s only one week, but this team looks like a completely different squad from last year. Of course, they’ll be tested again in the run game in Week 2 against the Packers, but for now, fans have to be happy with what they saw from Cook and the Minnesota rushing attack.
