Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook impressed in Week 1 of the 2019 season against the Falcons and is up for FedEx Ground Player of the Week.
One of the biggest surprises from Week 1 of the 2019 NFL season is when the Minnesota Vikings absolutely dismantled the Atlanta Falcons by winning all three phases of the game, including an offense where they ran the football with authority.
Having a healthy Dalvin Cook available and upgrading the offensive line help to move the ball efficiently. In the season opener, the running back gained 111 yards on 21 carries and reached the end zone two times.
His play was recognized on NFL.com and he is one of the nominees for FedEx Ground Player of the Week for Week 1.
Here are the three nominees:
- Marlon Mack, RB – Colts: 25 carries for 174 yards and 1 TD (7.0 average)
- Dalvin Cook, RB – Vikings: 21 carries for 111 yards and 2 TDs (5.3 average)
- Mark Ingram, RB – Ravens: 14 carries for 107 yards and 2 TDs
Voting is now open on NFL.com. You can cast your vote for Dalvin Cook or either one of the other nominees there. The winner will not only have the honor or the title but will have two thousand dollars donated in their name through FedEx Cares to support the USO Pathfinder program, which helps service people transition back to civilian life.
Hopefully, seeing Dalvin Cook’s name among the nominees will become something of a trend this season If he and the Vikings can continue to run the ball effectively and control the pace of football games, Minnesota could be in for a very successful season.
Best of luck to Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook in the voting for FedEx Ground Player of the Week and congratulations to him on his nomination. Don’t forget to get your votes in as soon as possible on NFL.com!
