Jayron Kearse – DB

Jayron Kearse has been one of the most exciting players on the Vikings’ roster since the preseason.

During the preseason, he would come in as soon as the starters came off the field and he would almost immediately make a big play. Kearse has a high motor and he uses his lanky arms to shed would-be blockers on his way to the ball carrier.

Last week against the Falcons, Kearse played in various packages and he kept that hot streak going on his way to eight tackles. He has truly been one of the most impressive players on Minnesota’s roster in recent weeks and he seems to be playing his way to a big contract in 2020 whether that is with the Vikings or not.

Kearse is likely going to have a bigger role this Sunday against the Packers as it looks like Minnesota is going to play him in the slot as the nickel corner in place of injured Mackensie Alexander. Kearse has done well in the past when being asked to play cornerback. His coverage skills are above average and he should be a force blitzing off the edge.

Kearse has more than earned an increased role on this defense, and it wouldn’t be one bit surprising to see him capitalize in a big purple way on this opportunity.
