Minnesota Vikings vs Raiders in Week 3: The Oakland perspective
By Adam Carlson
To get a different look at the Week 3 game between the Minnesota Vikings and Oakland Raiders, we got the perspective from the Oakland side of the ball.
So far, there has been quite a bit to talk about with the Minnesota Vikings during the 2019 NFL season. A major weakness of theirs in 2018 has become a strength, as the team has found success running the football. However, now the passing game has struggled and that has resulted in a 1-1 record so far this season.
Vikings media has been covering the game pretty closely, but one thing fans sometimes forget to do is take a look at the upcoming game to see what the other team is saying about Minnesota and what challenges may come from their point of view.
For that reason, we reached out to Brad Weiss over at Just Blog Baby (FanSided’s site for the Oakland Raiders) to ask five questions about the Week 3 matchup between these two teams that will take place on Sunday.
Let’s take a look at the three questions asked in order to get the opponent’s view on what the game between the Minnesota Vikings and Oakland Raiders has to offer and how the contest may play out!
1. Many experts and fans expected the Raiders to be a pushover this year. How have they pulled together to have a team that is far from an easy win on game day?
The Raiders completely revamped their roster this offseason, bringing in a ton of young talent, who are hungry to make their mark at the NFL level. While the talent level may not be up to par with some of the other teams in the conference, they play hard every down, and have much better team speed. Even in their 28-10 loss to the Chiefs last week, the team never gave up after that tough second quarter and held them scoreless the rest of the way.
Derek Carr is a great leader, and the team plays extremely hard for him. Sure, there are going to be games where they look young and inexperienced, but they have a strong coaching staff, and no team should go into a game against them expecting them to be a pushover. I expect them to be in every game this season.
