Griffen is back to terrorizing quarterbacks

One of the biggest questions surrounding the Vikings heading into the current season was how Everson Griffen would perform following a disappointing 2018 campaign.

Three games in and it’s pretty clear that Griffen is back to playing like the guy who made three-straight Pro Bowls from 2015 to 2017.

On Sunday, Minnesota’s veteran pass rusher was flustering Raiders quarterback Derek Carr all afternoon long. Griffen finished the matchup with six tackles, one sack, and one quarterback hit.

Against Oakland this week, he was able to add even more pressures to his impressive total (15) that was tied for the most in the NFL after two games. The Vikings’ defense rises to another level when they have Griffen wreaking havoc and it seems like he’s returned to being a pass-rushing monster once again.

He looks like he’s playing with something to prove this season and that’s not a good sign for Minnesota’s opponents this year. Oh well.
