Defensive MVP – Eric Wilson, linebacker

Anthony Barr sat out this week’s game with a groin injury, opening the door for Eric Wilson to get a lot more playing time. The linebacker did a great job with contain, patrolling the line of scrimmage to make sure the Raiders offense doesn’t gain yards after the catch or break any long runs.

Statistically, this was a monster game for Wilson. He had a game-high eleven tackles on the game with seven of them being solo. In addition, two of the takedowns were sacks on quarterback Derek Carr.

The front seven of the Minnesota Vikings did a great job containing Josh Jacobs and DeAndre Washington, as the duo was held to only 66 yards on 16 carries with zero rushing touchdowns on the day.

It’s good to know that if there is ever a problem with a linebacker in the team’s defense and Wilson has to fit in that Wilson will be able to fill in and play at a high level. It can still be debated whether Wilson or Kendricks should be the MVP, but those linebackers played their tails off!
