As the Minnesota Vikings prepare to face the Chicago Bears the question looms, is this the most important game of Kirk Cousins career?

The Minnesota Vikings are currently 2-1 and they are heading into a big showdown this Sunday with the Chicago Bears who share the same record.

The Bears flat out owned the Vikings a season ago by destroying them upfront and they even beat the purple at the end of the year when they had nothing to play for. If Minnesota wants to be serious contenders in the NFC North this season, they will have to go into Chicago this weekend and slay this demon.

Not only is this a big game for the Vikings, but it is also is a very extremely important game for their quarterback, Kirk Cousins.

Cousins has had kind of an odd season for Minnesota this year. He only threw the ball 10 times in their first game against the Atlanta Falcons. He then struggled in Green Bay and threw a horrible interception that cost the Vikings a win over the Packers.

Last week against the Oakland Raiders, Cousins played a clean game and he was more of a manager. He made the throws he had to make while relying on the defense and the running game to put the Raiders away.

Cousins’ performance against Oakland was a nice bounceback from a tough game in Week 2, but he will need to do much more against the Bears on Sunday. He has a ton of pressure on him and this game is very important to his future success with the Vikings.

With the recent negativity and doubt that has descended upon Cousins after last season and the first three games of this season, it is worth debating; is this the most important game of Kirk Cousins’ career? Here are three reasons why it just might be.
