Everson Griffen – DE

Everson Griffen has been on fire so far in 2019. After questions popped up in the offseason about his future with the team, he was ultimately restructured and the Vikings have to be feeling very good about that decision after three games of the 2019 season.

Griffen is playing with a renewed passion and is exploding off the football. He has been living in opponents backfields and has been harassing every quarterback the Vikings have faced so far this year.  He has racked up two sacks, 10 tackles, and a boatload of quarterback pressures. He is playing like a man 3/4 of his age.

The Vikings will need Griffen to stay hot this weekend in Chicago. Mitchell Trubisky is a young quarterback who will get rattled if he feels pressure.

Griffen needs to be hitting him early and often. If he gets in his head early, Trubisky will begin to feel the pressure if it is there or not and will look to get rid of the ball much earlier than he needs to. This should lead to some opportunities for the Vikings secondary to come down with the football and get some turnovers that can swing this game in the Vikings favor.
