Will Diggs have his coming out party?
One of the biggest question marks throughout the first three games of the season has been the status of Stefon Diggs. While bogus trade rumors continue to float around the internet, Diggs’ production on the field has taken a dive with the Vikings returning to a more run-oriented offense.
With just six catches for 101 yards and a touchdown, Diggs has been a missing factor in the Vikings’ offense. However, that might just be due to a lack of passing volume in general.
Minnesota comes into Sunday’s game ranked last in the NFL with 63 passing attempts through the first three weeks and the next closest team, San Francisco, has 85. That disparity, although fueled by the Vikings’ dominant nature in their two victories, is enough to explain why Diggs hasn’t produced despite continuing to put his opponents on ice skates with his route running.
It should be a matter of time before Diggs has his coming out party in 2019 and a big performance against the Bears would be a perfect time for that to happen.
