Griffen and Hunter can’t be stopped this season

Despite finishing with the second-most sacks in the NFL a year ago, there were some concerns about the Vikings’ defensive line heading into the 2019 season.

Three games in and it’s safe to say that those concerns no longer exist, at least when it comes to their starting defensive ends. Danielle Hunter and Everson Griffen have been relentless with their pressure this year and they have made life incredibly difficult for opposing blockers.

During the first three weeks of the season, Hunter and Griffen have combined for more than 30 pressures, which includes five sacks and 11 quarterback hits. Opposing offensive linemen have had virtually no answer for Minnesota’s ferocious pass-rushing duo this year.

This season, the Bears’ blockers have allowed 2.7 sacks per game to opposing defenses. With Griffen and Hunter coming to town this week, Chicago’s offensive line is certainly going to have their hands full in their matchup with the Vikings.
