Minnesota Vikings MVPs: Week 4 vs. Chicago Bears
By Adam Carlson
Defensive MVP – Eric Kendricks, linebacker
As previously stated, nobody on the Minnesota Vikings defense really did a great job against the pass. While there was pressure on the quarterback and some great tackles to limit yards after the catch, everyone struggled.
Eric Kendricks led the way on Sunday with twelve tackles, eight of those solo. He played sideline-to-sideline very well in this game, making sure that no running backs got too much yardage and stopping the short passes before too much YAC was gained.
Pro Football Focus says that Kendricks didn’t have a single missed tackle on the day, which is very impressive considering the speed and elusiveness the Bears have on offense as well as the solid blocking schemes they employ.
The Vikings linebacker is such an important part of the defense that it allows other players to not have to do double duty. Kendricks is a very reliable defender and one Minnesota can rely on to get stops on plays designed to gain yards after the catch and give Minnesota situations where they can get opposing teams off the field on third down.
Who do you think were the MVPs on offense and defense for the Minnesota Vikings in Week 4 against the Chicago Bears? And who else deserves an honorable mention for their performance? Let us know your opinions in the comments.
