Oakland Raiders

Heading into the 2019 season, the Raiders thought they were going to have the services of All-Pro wide receiver Antonio Brown. But as many know, Brown was able to force his way out before Week 1 and Oakland has been left with Tyrell Williams as their top receiver this year.

Williams has performed well in the Raiders’ four games this season, but he’s not really a true No. 1 receiver. Oakland’s current wide receiver depth, in general, is pretty poor this year when it comes to overall talent.

In acquiring a guy like Stefon Diggs, the Raiders would add a player who can step in immediately and be their No. 1 receiver. Diggs would be able to come in and be a reliable target for Derek Carr or whoever Oakland decides to have as their quarterback next season.

Right now, the Raiders have almost $30 million in cap space and they’re projected to have almost $80 million to spend in 2020, so Diggs’ current contract wouldn’t be an issue.

Oakland also has two first-round picks in next year’s NFL Draft. If the Raiders are seriously interested in acquiring the current Vikings receiver, then parting with at least one of those two first-round draft selections is something that they will likely have to do.
