Daniel Jones – QB

Let’s not kid ourselves Daniel Jones wouldn’t help the Vikings win games this season. The Giants were ridiculed heavily by many in the media, including myself, for taking this guy with the sixth overall pick.

He took over for Eli Manning a couple of weeks ago and has led the Giants to two straight victories. He has played pretty well and has shown the ability to make smart decisions with the football. The Giants certainly have to be feeling good about their quarterback of the future.

The Vikings, on the other hand, are dealing with a very expensive struggling starting quarterback. Kirk Cousins has cost the Vikings one game so far this season and has played very poorly in another big one. They aren’t going to bench him anytime soon, but if the struggles continue to the point where the Vikings look to be out of playoff contention, it would certainly be nice to have the heir apparent like Daniel Jones on the roster.

If Cousins were to continue to falter, the Vikings could admit their mistake and sit him, and let their young quarterback of the future gain valuable experience. It really does them no good to bench Cousins in favor of Sean Mannion, as he looks to be a career backup.

The team will use a fairly high draft pick on a quarterback in the 2020 Draft, and if Jones were already on the team, they could start developing him and groom him to be the long-term answer at a position that has been very unstable for the purple and gold for a long time now.
